Is there any advice on putting a ring on a piston? I had to order a new ring and piston for a basket case engine I bought used. I know these things are brittle. The enclosed image is what I'm fixing. Bought it as a "strong running engine"!

Set the piston down on your bench and take the ring with a thumbnail hooked on each ring end and gently slide it down over the piston crown and into the ring land. If your piston has a ring pin be sure and locate the ends of the ring on each side of it as you install it.
