Gentlemen, Appreciate some help on a couple of items. Building a SIG Liberty Sport bipe. How do I make and attach the cockpit windshields. Have tried cutting from some flat plastic and inserting into thin cockpit cowling rubber. Tough to insert and epoxy and keep it in such a thin piece. How to do? Or thinking of cutting forms out of mayonaise jar. At least the curve is already formed.
Is there a place you can buy already made windshields to attach?
Want to put in a fuel filter valve through the cowling to fill gas tank. Big deal to set up?

Don't know about the windows..
but don't use one of those spring loaded, cuts of fuel to the carb when you fill fuel dots...they leak air after a short time and you'll have a dickens of a time finding that leak..(dickens of a time? ) just get a fuel dot that is a fitting, where the fill line passes through the fitting and is held in place by a stopper and friction. When you want to fill just remove line and stopper.

2Liter pop bottles will shrink when heated up with a heat gun. Carve and shape a form and heat the plastic over it.
For flat windows, cut the sides out of the bottle and flatten. Or use clear UltraCote.
Also, look at the shape of the plastic drink bottles. A grocery store has 100s of different bottle shapes and sizes. Lots of them have shapes hidden in the bottle somewhere. Scoops and windshields all over the place.
Epoxy is messy. Canopy glue isn't.

Hi jetmech05, Thanks for the reply. Saw a Sullivan fuel filler valve advertised in Tower Hobby catalog. You think this might do the job?
This is my first R/C model These things are new to me. Thanks.

the check valve is what leaks...I just did a search of tower and didn't find what i was talking about..however psp mfg has a site that you can order the fuel dot I'm talking about. And they come in colors too...
Now you said this is your first rc model and things are new to you...have you been flying with a trainer and an instructor?

Hi jetmech05, Thanks for info on psp mfg. My flying privileges have been taken away from me at age 79. Instructor will be there when it happens.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the response. I'm dealing with a windshield not a canopy. Don't know if that makes a difference. Any idea where you can get this RC56?

They're both going to be made out of clear plastic. It doesn't.

I just cut the shape I want out of a empty bottle and use no 2 metal screws at the corners and put some black elecical tape over the joint between thr fuse and the windshield[cut it to about1/4 inch]. that will hold fine
