Default Is Rustoleum spray paint fuel proof?

Hi... I've heard from someone that rustoleum paint is fuelproof? I can't get my hands on normal model aerosol paint, cause of flamable goods shipping restrictions. Can anyone vouch for Rustoleum paint?? I can find those in a few hardware stores down here! Thanks

Some colors are, some aren't. Some colors are one time, and the same colors in another batch are not. Sometimes it dries, sometimes it takes weeks.

For the MOST part, most of the everyday colors will be glow fuel resistant after a couple days of drying. Many of the metallics, and the clear that I had tried will not be fuel resistant. Whatever you want to use, get a can and do a test first and make sure it passes before painting a plane.

Hey Dave,
since the Rustoleum question comes up so often, can you post a sticky post at the top of the forums or maybe a FAQ forum page thats locked down. It seems this site just gobbles up data space covering the same issues over and over. We are generating computor land fill.

Along the same line, has anyone tried "Fusion" the plastic/vinal whatever spray? I use it inside of all my canopies, works great. But I've never tried it on a ABS or FG cowl. Any experience?

MOST of your ACRYLIC enamels are fuel proof.

I would do a test panel with ANY paint before commiting it to the plane.

djr,
I had some on a heli canopy by JR. It just flaked off. I don't know if it needed some kind of primer first or what. However it never got gooey.
