I have not done this, but I have reinforced landing gear made from 5/32 wire in foam wings by using "U" shaped ply plates on each end of the gear's slotted hardwood block strip. It would be the same idea/goal as what you need. The added glue area provided by the plates allowed much more epoxy to be used to stop the hardwood block from torquing loose. The same idea could be used with servo mounting block strips.

Your answer is vauge. Could you be a bit more specific about this mounting box ? For instance what type of wood ,what type of glue or did you mean epoxy ? Do you have certain dimensions or for said box ? or may be some pictures?

Many different ways to mount servos. Terry used servo boxes which once installed are very strong, light and trim off the servo hole very nice. We start by making a block the exact size of the hole you reproduce and cut the balsa from light 1/8th. Use some scrap 1/8 or what ever ply for the servo screws.
Assemble the boxes using your master block which keeps everything straight and uniform in size. Cut the pieces a little big and use a belt sander to trim the scrap off. This is important later.

Here is a servo box ready to install. Once assembled I use the belt sander to even things up and take a bite out of the bottom to reduce weight somewhat.
I made 8 servo boxes which combined weigh 1 ounce. I will explain why 8 boxes later.
Another common method of servo install is to take some 3/8 x 1/4 Basswood and cut them into 3 inch long bars and recess them into the surface, then sheet over them. For 8 servos this would take 48 inches of wood which also weighs 1 ounce. Easier and faster however, well just not for me.

glue your wooden box in with a foam compatible glue, and you will be golden...heck lots of big warbirds (byrons) for example had wooden mounts for the retracts just glued in ..some guys reinforced theirs better than others. Think about the punch those were taking on landing compared to a servo ..
