regarding a Baffle
 
<div>hello,</div><div>i have a yak 54 and need to create a baffle using 1/8 plywood. What about the bottom of the cowl. Do i leave it as open as possible or do i close off everything except below the cylinder?</div><div>thanks</div>

You want to ensure that the air exit area is larger than the inlet, so that you do not "pack" air in the cavity. Exit larger than inlet will cuase a negative pressure at the inlet and "suck" air into the engine cavity.

To expand on this, the exit area should be at least twice the size of the inlet.
