milled fiberglass... size?

I want to make some milled glass from some fiberglass I have. How long should the glass fibers be?

Thanks,

Herb

Mill it!

It's really up to you, depending on your useage, but...

For things like attaching firewalls and reinforcing gear plates, etc., I chop up the glass into pieces about 1/8th inch wide, and 1/4 inch long. It's a great use for all those scraps of glass you have laying around after a project, and really increases the strength of those joints, especially if you're securing something to a fiberglass fuselage.

milled fiberglass... size?

Thanks, Mike. I was actually attaching a horiz. stab to my fuse. I found an old post of yours that said the same thing and went with that. The building manual suggested it but, of course, they didn't put it in the list of optional things, etc. and so I had no idea until I got to this point. Anyway, thanks.

Herb
