Very interesting design. I built a much smaller scale vacuum former for small model airplane parts, just a box that accepts a shop-vac hose and has a pegboard platen. I heat the frame with the plastic in the oven. Turn on the shop-vac and slap the plastic down.

But I've never seen a design with a vacuum reservoir, this is fantastic! The problem is that the plastic cools down and hardens quickly. The air tank will let the pull happen much quicker and give better results. I'm going to have to think about this and see if I can't come up with a way to scale this down for my application.

Gotta love the Aperture logo. He, he, he!

Thanks loads!

Dave
