leaking robart instalation
ok, here is my problem, I have a leaking tri gear setup.
does somebody know the most suceptible to leak parts of the instalation ? what's the best method for troubleshooting? thanks a lot |
RE: leaking robart instalation
Well, heres what I would do. Use spray cleaner around fittings, like when you're looking for leaks in an LP system. You would need to use something (a towel) to keep the wood from getting too wet since it might take several sprays. You might try a few drops of 3in1 oil to lube the cylander also. How fast is the leak? If mine hold air over night or a couple of days, I'm happy.

RE: leaking robart instalation
the instalation drop from 100 psi to zero in 5minuts........ this is a new setup made from some used parts (main gear and retract valve) and some new stuffs (nose gear, airbottle .........)

RE: leaking robart instalation
I have been a bit too fast to ask assistance of fellows. The first part I replaced for trouble shooting was the good one. I had a leaking retract valve !
the problem was on the delta vortex you can see in my avatar |
RE: leaking robart instalation
You're too quick SalmonBug :) !!!
I would have suggested putting the whole installation (under pressure) into a little container full of alcohol (not water, beacause getting rid of it would have been a real hassle). |
RE: leaking robart instalation
nice idea strykaas, but a bit unrealistic as soon the instalation is already in the plane with all the tubing in wings and so on

RE: leaking robart instalation
OK, so here what I would do, somewhat similar to Edwin's piece of advice. Use several drops of washing up fluid on 'suspects' parts, e.g. Robart valve. This stuff bubbles a LOT, so finding the leak should be easy...
You could also hold a little burnin' match close to your 'suspect' parts, any leak will result in a 'dancing' flame. But take care, your aircraft is highly flammable [X(] !!!! |
