Brakes
Rocket City used to make wheel brakes they came in pairs and had the cable with them. They were about six or seven bucks per set of two. Tower hobbies did carry them but they have been discontinued. Does any one know any one with some or whom else makes them.

This isn't a direct answer to your question, but if you have a tricycle gear plane, stuff down elevator in it at after you're on the runway  You may be surprised how effective it is with some airspeed_bob

I want to know too, and my attempt to push this thread back into service is now complete :-)
C'mon guys (and ladies too), any clue where to find this brake set? I'm building a 1/5th scale long ez and would really like to stop my heavy model without adding pneumatic stuff. Plus, I think I could work a nice system under the wheel pants of the mains. Bob: not to critique you at all, but at idle, models don't like to stop on asphault runways with just down elevator. Works great on grass fields though! Thanks guys, Dan [email protected] |

DuBro used to market a wheel brake activated by pulling on a cable.

Dubro still makes that brake system, it's like 4 bucks but you need to be a rocket scientist/brake specialist to get it to work right. But once done, it does work great. You have to mix it with a channel, or add another servo.

I believe Hobby Lobby sells an electrically operated brake that looks pretty cool. It runs off a 9 volt battery.
