Working Nav Lights
 

I have bought myself a Modelfly Cessna Cardinal 177 for an Xmas pressy (lucky me) and would like to fit working naviagation lights, i.e. red and green to the wing and flashing red to the vertical stabiliser, I have thought about using the bright led's that are now available in electronic shops but have no idea how to wire them up. I would like to make them switchable from the on/off receiver switch using a seperate battery pack and possibly include a clear led for the landing light switchable from the transmitter, is there anyone who can help me ??

www.curtek.com also has lighting setups and parts. The lights are designed to be light enough for parkflyer applications, but they are bright and robust enough for use in a plane like yours also. I've got them on a l'il GWS tiger moth at the moment; I use it to get some flying in during the winter (since it seems like it's too windy whenever I'm not working and there's daylight).

Also, there's a good article in one of the magazines this month hta covers this very subject. Either MAN or RCM. Good article and well-illustrated.

Here is some good info, may be a bit small, but is very easy to make and weighs next to nothing. The system runs off the receiver battery and has very low draw. Best of all, it is very cheap to build> If you look through the thread, you will see links to companies selling ultra-bright LED's which would work better for your size plane. I put this system on a slow stick and it does very well
