RE: glue
Elmers white glue, Elmers Carpenter's glue, Titebond....

RE: glue
Titebond II is my favorite. It easy to use and very strong, light weight, relatively easy to sand.

RE: glue
LazyAce,
Did they discontinue making PICA? I just bought a new, large bottle of it last week at the LHS. If that is the last of stock I will go by the HS tomorrow and buy them out. I decided a month or so ago to do away with CA in my shop except for an occasional quick tack job after reading workshop threads and the CA allergy posts here. Several posts mentioned Titebond Original Formula as being prefered. I have used it a lot on other wood projects and can see no problems but man, I just love PICA. |
RE: glue
I use either original formula Titebond or Elmer's Carpenter's glue for general construction. I can't tell the difference and like them both. I didn't like Titebond II because it seemed a little more rubbery than regular Titebond and harder to sand smooth. I also use a lot of airplane glue (Sigment or Ambroid) for edge joining exterior sheet because the excess wipes off with acetone, MEK or dope thinner and what's left sands very easily.
