Flame out when bottle is half full.

Since I have been flying my lazy thunder tiger plane , it almost always flames out at at about a half a tank of gas. I really enjoy this plane because it can be flown very slow and very fast allowing me to do aerobatic tricks so I procrastinated on checking the tank and lines.

Well today while at the field I took the tank out and found debris inside which I knew would be there but the biggest shocker I discovered was after cleaning, reinstalling the tank, and making sure the lines were ok , I attempted to blow into the exhaust line and nothing came out of the high speed needle line.

Now wait a minute.....I thought, what in the world is going on. So I took the tank back out to make sure it wasn't upside down and reinstalled it and got the same result . So then I slid the tank back little by little until I could blow air into the exhaust tube and feel air come out of the high speed needle tube.

This discovery may explain allot of flame outs I have had with other planes.

The tip is before completing the installation of your tank make sure you can blow air into the exhaust line and feel it come out of the high speed needle line. GL

RE: Flame out when bottle is half full.

If you don't use the tanks with the chin to protect the fuel lines, it is a good idea to put a block of foam in front of the tank to keep it from sliding forward and pinching the line.
