Windex for sticky back decals?
Got several adhesive backed decals to apply. Will applying windex and sliding them on work? I always have trouble with these type of decals. Wrinkles and air bubbles. Will the windex activate the adhesive?

RE: Windex for sticky back decals?
My experience is it depends on the decal. What I do is cut a small piece of the clear decal, there is usually extra at the edges, and try it with Windex to see if it works or not.

RE: Windex for sticky back decals?
I have used diluted Windex to apply sticky back numbers and ensignias with great success. My local sign shop told me to use a diluted solution of water and Windex so I went 50 - 50. They also gave me a squigee to get the major portion of the solution out from under the sticker. The process is to wet the surface well with the solution, position the sticker and squigee out the excess water and air bubbles with a soft plastic squigee or even a folded up paper towel will work. Anything that will put some light pressure on the sticker and not damage it.

A thin piece of plywood or an old credit card wrapped in a bit of paper towel works well, too. Work the liquid out from the center to the edges.
