Skinned Hinge, torque rod binding

I just finished cutting apart skinned ailerons from my first, and to this point successful attempt at vacuum / mylar bagged Q500 wings and skinned hinges. I installed the torque rods as I had read in a few articles to discover the geometry does not work (ie center line of torque rod needs to be on center line of hinge).

It makes sense why it will not work without binding, how do others get around this issue. It comes to mind that if the torque rod was not glued to the aileron there would be no binding, but I an concerned the free play may result in flutter in a plane meant for speed?

Thanks in advance for any past experienced suggestions.

RE: Skinned Hinge, torque rod binding

Go look in the pylon forums. Many threads on this topic over there. Search for a thread called "Skinned hinges Minnesota Style".

Basically, the rod is allowed to flex toward the aileron side to prevent binding.
