I don't use parting material as I allways glue balsa skins onto the foam. My understanding is parting film is necessary when vacuum bagging glass cloth onto the skins, haven't done that to date, maybe some day. The plastic drop cloth pulls right off those areas where the glue expandes out of the joint.

How long do you let the caulk set up before you pull the vacuum?

Sean, I like the looks of your garage!

Just enough stuff lying around to make it a "get busy with the plane build" as opposed to "too clean as to impress the neighbor's wife";):D:D

Cheers, Vasek

I don't, just run a continous bead around the edge and push the top cover into the bead. Turn the pump on work the seam to get a seal.

Thanks Tony,

Vasek, the only problem with this shop is that it can get out of hand dirty in a hurry. But yes, lots of projects make it through here. About 20 built ready to fly turbine jets in the past five years. This is the number two ship of a jet I produce. The above picture was the prototype.
