enclosed trailer

I have a 5x8 enclosed trailer. I need to do something else to store the wings. (1)One way would be to put a rack overhead, but the trailer isn't all that tall & I am. I have to bend over to get to the back as it is. If I install an overhead system I'd have to crawl on my knees to get to the back. (2) Another would be to intsall pegs with the wings horizonal & I think I'd like that better as they would only take a foot or so on the left side. But how would I extend the pegs & secure the wings? The wings are secured now with eye hooks & small bungie cords. Any way I go it's got to be on the left side or overhead (or both  ) Thanks for any & all input.

Wing Rack

Billy

I used adjustable shelf brackets I purchased from K-Mart
Then I slipped a piece of pipe insulation over them to protect the wings. Works great , and they come in many different lengths.

Good luck

enclosed trailer

Billy,

An inexpensive way to put wings in the 5x8 is with PVC pipe brackets.
I used pipe T fittings with short pieces of pipe mounted vertically to mount the wing support arms. If you make the short pipes between the T fittings about 3-1/2 to 4" long, you can mount up to 6 wings on the side of the trailer and still have room for flight boxes and stuff on the floor underneath.

The horizontal supports for the wings go into the side of the pipe T, and point straight out from the wall. These can be from 14-18" long, depending on how wide your wings are. I padded mine with foam pipe insulation, and used 3 or 4 robber bands strung together to hold the wings down.

If you put a PVC pipe cap in the ends of the pipes supporting the wings, they will keep the bands from sliding off the end, as well as protection your eyeballs when you bump into them.

wing holders

Hi Billy,
my brother posted a pic of how I did my wing hold downs in my trailer.
This is the link to that page here at RCU.
