Need tips for making cowl blisters

Anyone have advice for covering the cutouts I made in my cowl for spark plug clearance?

Thanks!

Mark

I've glassed in the end of a plastic spoon before. Blisters from small toys work too. Just have to find one the shape you need. ;)

I have just used glass cloth and epoxy, pushing the cloth through the opening and forming it to shape with my finger. A little filler around the edges blends it in .

I made these bumps/blisters from balsa, then glassed them.

Hi,

The blisters from spinner packs come in various sizes. You may find this site of help in many areas, http://www.airfieldmodels.com/
Paul has a wealth of knowledge.

Cheers,

I saw a thread somewhere (can't remember, it might have been on RCU) where someone used plastic easter eggs and cut the appropriate sections from them to make blisters. Have not tried this myself, but It looked really neat and you can get these in various sizes to match your application. Depending on how you cut the section, you can get somewhat elliptical or spherical sections.

If your application is not very big, you can also use pushrod exits like these ones:
