How to solder connectors?

The little gold plated connectors for my AXI outrunner look like this picture. How am I supposed to solder these to the wires? Do they get crimped, just soldered to the little face at the bottom, what?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9yY9Kk4bEA is a pretty good way to do it. I personally don't tin the connector, just the wire. Then I use an alligator clip "third hand" to hold the wire centered and vertical in the connector, put the tip of my soldering iron thru the hole in the side of the connector and feed in solder until the cup (with the wire in it) fills up.

Good video. However, IMHO they left out one key step in the process. Even with 60/40 I still put a slight coat of flux on the wire and the connector to insure consistently good solder joints.
