microballons replacement?
I have read somewhere that a common household item can be used in place of microballons, what comes to mind is baking soda. Memory is not as good as it used to be... Can anyone confirm or correct my dilemma?

Talcum powder works well. Baking soda might, I've never tried it with epoxy, only CA.

Just FYI, you can buy a gallon bag of the stuff from homebuilt aircraft suppliers like Wicks, and Aircraft Spruce for around $6.00. Beats the stuffing out of paying $4.00 for a 6oz. bottle.

I've taken a Dremel sanding drum to pieces of scrap fiberglass to make a little pile of "fiberglass dust". Works great when mixed with epoxy to glue in firewalls and formers. . . . just don't breathe it. . .
