I have metallic red monocoat and i need some paint to match.top flight does not make this color any more in paint. so what other brands can i use. or if someone has a can to sell. email me at miterman22@hotmail. thanks

If all else fails and depending how desperate you are try an Automotive paint supplier. The range of colours is endless. Remember to take your piggy bank with you along with the monokote sample. You may have to buy a two part paint and it will have to be sprayed on.

I think I remember seeing a rust-olium metalic red. Not sure how well it would match though.

Back about ten years ago I needed some metalic green paint. I used some ladies fingernail polish. It thins in lacquer thinner for spraying pruposes. I am sure you should be able to locate red and get a few 99 cent bottles.

I am not sure on the details....But, as I understand it, the Top Flite metalics are supposed to be available again around the end of March. I was told the EPA is making them reformulate for some reason. I need Metalic Red too.

Chevron Perfect Paint makes monokote matching colors. You might investigate to see if they have the metallic red. Perfect Paint is available through Sheldon's hobby shop.

Pactra Formula-U also used to have monokote matching colors. I think Formula-U is now sold under the Midwest brand name. You might check that line of paint as well to see if they have a metallic red.

Check the LHS for paints for model car bodies. Lots of funky colours. I've been experimenting with a water based acrylic called Createx Auto Air. Again ,lots of cool colours . Available at art supply stores.
