Aileron glitch

Although in the hobby for years, this is my first gas build. Question ... My field friends tell me I should not have run a solid 4-40 rod from carb, past engine EIS ignition to servo because that will transmit EMI or noise to my receiver, which is a Futaba FM. I chose to stay with FM rather than go to PCM because I have never in 15 years or so had any problem what-so-ever with FM. I have set up a solid, no "slop", ball joint connected push rod that I really like. Must I change this to Nirod or Golden Rod to eliminate noise, or am I good to go ? I really like my set up, but..... Engine is a Fuji Imvac 43 on a giant Aeromaster bipe. Really nice... I have flown it three times so far.

RE: Aileron glitch

....your friend might be right. The glitch is coming from somewhere. I would replace the
linkage with a Ny-rod and see if the glitch disappears. ;)

RE: Aileron glitch

If you have several flight already and no glitches, what is the question? It works so go with it. However, your friend is correct in saying that such a set up will be much more apt to cause problems than a non conductive push rod would cause. A far more probable cause of interferance is any metal to metal contacts that can vibrate or rub against each other.
