my trailer

built a "slider" for the inside of my trailer...its 4x8 and 3 ft tall (built on a harbor freight frame) anyways its getting close to being done, i'll post more pics of the outside when I pull it out of the garage.

Does anyone have a suggestion for how to set up a rack for hauling 4 or 5 "40 sized" airplanes in here? was thinking about building a few PVC racks.

RE: my trailer

I concur with the idea of PVC racks (with padding) to hold the planes and wings. Could build a mezzanine level to increase the capacity? It could be similar to the ground level, but with more door rollers and no swivel casters since they wouldn't have anything to run on. Do you think that would that work?

Not sure if this will work for you, but here is a 5-slot vertical rack I built. I don't take my planes apart (the ones that come apart, that is) unless it's for repairs or burial. :)

The base and uprights are 2 x 6 and the wing supports are 1-inch oak dowels with pipe insulation on them. It's cheap and functional.

amazing what $20 of carpet can do for looks...i'm adding a few strips of this track I found at the local Tractor Supply for tying down a few of the bigger airplanes. It was alittle expensive I thought...18" strip with 2 rings for $21
