21 century fabric paint

I have a GP PT 19 giant scale. There are some scuff marks and such on the wing. I bought some GP lustercote cub yellow paint, taped everything up and sprayed the wing. two coats and still the marks are visible. Should I have reprimed the entire wing before repainting? I wasn't aware that the Cub yellow was considered a "candy" type color paint and yes I shook the paint can aggressively for at least two minutes.

LusterKote works better if you use there white primer over the area first.

Or you can use Krylon #1315 white primer.

Thanks, that is what I figured, didn't realize that the paint was so transparent. Will get the white tonight and repaint.

FYI, red and yellow are both very poor covering/hiding paints. You definately need a base coat of white, either primer or paint, before you apply the finish coat.

Used the Krylon white primer and krylon yellow on the wing last night. Looks great!!!! I used to do body work on cars and have custom painted a few harley's, I should've known better than to try and cover without primer. Anyway, thanks. Plan is going to look great!

Man aint that the truth!! Where is the good weather? Of course when I'm at work it's perfect. We haven't had a decent Sunday for flying in the very long time! This coming Sunday, temps in the upper 40's, but rain will be there with the temps! Guess I need to get a small indoor flyer. It's been so long since I flew that I might need lessons all over again! :D

I'm darn sure thinking about Arizona. Out of the hurrincane belt, but not sure I like the color brown so much. All I have left to do on the plane is touch up the Horizontal stab and it will be decal ready. Need to take the cowl off and do a good engine inspection. iginition battery is in the cowl as well. I haven't had time to look and figure out where and how the guy has the kill switch setup. Been working long days and 6 days a week.

"Sweepers, Sweepers man your brooms, sweep down all decks for and aft" Man I hated that boatswaines whistle on ship !!!:D

I haven't had time to cycle anything, work has been crazy. At work todayand of course it's 45f out, light wind. Tommorrow my only day off and supposed to be in the 50's but heavy rain! ARGH!! I haven't even had time to switch Rx's. Plane has a futaba PCM Rx (36 Mhz). I putting 2.4 in it. I'm not even sure if a kill switch is installed in it (Tx kill switch). there is a manual switch for the IE. Battery is mounted under the cowl. Haven't had the cowl off yet. After getting it all "dolled" up with paint and decals. I'll get into the nitty gritty.

OH yeah taking my time. I have the wing ready, posted some pics on the beginners forum. Have to do some touch up on the tail section and redecal the fuse and the rudder. I'm thinking about painting the fuse red. True USMC colors then, and I think it would look awesome. Still debating the color swap. But the more I think about the more I like the idea. I'm watching the Playoff football game!! Man I hate Farve!!! :D:D Just would like to see the saints in the super bowl. they've never been! Anyway. I'm taking my time on the plane. Will not fly it until I'm 100 % certain it's ready.

Actually, black primer/undercoat works surprisingly well with yellow paint! Spray your yellow over both white and black primer on some scrap cardboard and look at the results. It takes less yellow to cover, by the way.
