Covering ???

I have a new LT-40 ARF from Nitro Planes and its all white, but I have no idea what type of covering is on it. I want to put a three color design on the wing with UltraCoat. What is the best way to cut the covering so that each color shape/design matches the one that is going to be next to it.
1. Use a template and cut each one or stack the colors and cut them all at the same time.
2. Do I overlap the colors or can I but them up against each other. Without the white showing.
I know I will be adding weight, but will be using an OS65LA for power. Personally I don't think double covering will add that much weight. But I've been wrong before!
What's your thoughts?
Thank Rich

First, overlap the covering. If possible, do it so that any seams face away from the airflow.

As far as how to cut it goes, a lot will depend on your design. Can you post a pic?

Finally, adding covering over covering is not so much a problem of weight, the problem is it is very difficult to get a nice finish without having a million air bubbles trapped between the two layers. I would remove as much of the old covering as possible first, or poke a bazillion holes in it so the air can escape.

Go to this page, there are two good articles on covering:

If you strip the old covering, lay out your pattern overlaping the seams and seal those seams. Won't they come apart when you go to shrink the covering when you apply it?
I'm doing a 3 color camo across a wing.

Not if you're careful. Look at the covering videos I linked to earlier. I did just that. I covered a wingtip by mating the red tip covering to the white wing covering. This was done over open bays with no wood supporting the covering
