X-Spec, Just to let you know the TJT-4000 Condor has not been commercially released as yet, TJT hope to have it ready for hobby market release very soon.
TJT's UAV commitments have been taking priority of late sorry for the delay, it will be worth the wait...

Hi X-Spec, Thanks for the interest in our engines, I have been asked similar questions as yours for a little while now... theres been many inquiries received lately about the 4000 Condors release date. We are truly sorry for the delay with release of the Condor onto hobby market due to our current UAV market commitment along with ongoing product performance enhancement development and refinement.
I cannot say more currently about any release dates due to product marketing reasons but we will be posting some updated info on the 4000 Condor as soon as the engines are available for release and we will also start some new threads on the RCU jet forums and turbine clinic regarding availability along with detailed specification and some impressive design and performance figures on actually 'two' new engines due to be released so as to keep all interested aware.

i am new to jets and and currently looking for which turbine i plan to use on my model i was wondering what theadvantages the tjt turbine might have over lets say the more generic brand as of right now the reason i ask is from what i can se from the outside tjt turbines look to be of more quality and that is what has atracted me to them plus one other question i noticed on some of the other tubines and on tjt has the cone shape coming through the inside of the exhaust what is this for

Hi P-80 thanks for the interest in our engines... some of the differences between TJT turbines over the rest is efficiency, reliability and longevity.... TJT turbines have a 100+hr service interval if engines are maintained to manufacturer recommendations, this means simply avoiding ingestion of foreign objects i.e. dust, grass, stones etc. and use of correct fuel i.e. triple filtered Kerosene and 5% turbine oil. If you checkout service intervals on other brands you will see 25hrs is a common service interval, to me this indicates higher component ware and less efficiency in comparison, so if you had to say replace bearings every 25hrs on other brand turbines which seems likely in many cases (note 25hr service interval) the cost long term say over a 3-4 year period could have you near on a second turbine if you fly alot.... TJT's 100 hr service interval is just a check up on the bearings and likely these will not need replacing anyway for closer to 150hrs in most cases. TJT turbines are definitely 'Tonka Tuff' so to speak
Design wise the TJT-3000 V2 for example has evolved into the highest performing turbine engine in its class, just compare various manufacturers specs to ours the TJT-3000 runs cooler, uses less fuel has faster spool up and down time and is unique with a near indestructible CNC machined aluminum heat sink outer case which can handle extreme crash damage were many others would be a trash can jobs the TJT's likely will be repaired and in the air again in a very short time (ask me how I know this)
The TJT 4000's combustion chamber, bearing carrier design, fuel stick burner design, exhaust cone design and laminar flow inlet cowl, kero start system, and integrated smoker system are some differences unique to TJT's. The exhaust design is also unique to TJT's with the design optimized for efficient combustion chamber fuel burn and exhaust gas flow through efficiency...

Hope this helps please feel free to ask all the questions you like anytime...

All the best-

um also could you explain the laminar flow inlet cowl and if it is kero start does that mean that you still have the moter on the front of the intake and does it just mean it uses jet fuel instead of having to bring a propane can

Hi P-80, the answer is no at this moment the TJT-4000 is currently unavailable for sale on to the hobby market, it is ready for release as much TJT production resources currently are focused toward filling UAV engine contract requirements, therefor some new upcoming engine designs that have been due for release for a while now have been delayed unfortunately due to this the TJT-4000 Condors hobby market release date is yet to be confirmed by the factory, that being said I have been advised that we will have some good news on that front very soon possibly within next few weeks at least as far as release date confirmation goes.... sorry I cannot offer anymore 4000 information just now though [&o]
I will be sure to email all those who have enquired or are interested and make mention both here on RCU and the TJT engine clinic forum as soon as any updated 4000's release date info becomes available.[8D]

Cheers-

The laminar flow inlet cowl design assists to further minimize airflow turbulence around engines intake. The kero start versions will still at this point use a conventional Bendix style electric starter arrangement at the front of our engines and you are correct the kerosene start option will now eliminate the need altogether to use on board propane systems for the start cycle, this simplifies the systems installation further of course as you don't need to carry the on board propane start gas cylinders anymore....
