Found this if anybody wants it. Heard xl5 is pretty good. For me putting a $35 esc in a $15 dollar car defeats the purpose.

Will this work for an esc with a lipo. http://cgi.ebay.com/220A-240A-Brushl...item27b90b1827 If not I have an 8.4 volt nimh 1200 mah battery Are those any good.
The ESC should work fine with the stock brushed motor. But I hope you know you'll need a real receiver for it to work, and that means you'll need a real servo, and transmitter. So you might as well start with a better platform since your investing all these parts.

Compliments to Texx 4 showing this to me, simple basic and includes everything you need and a ESC. looks easy to use too. Might work for your truck. Might be able to find a cheaper similar package on ebay as well

I actuallt Already have a Transmitter reciver and Servo. So all I need is and ESC and A battery. The parts I have were from a different car.

Oj This might be the wrong section but I found this car is it any good http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c802-fireblack-24ghz.html instead of upgrading the one I have. Technically It is under 100 dollars.
[link=http://www.ultimatehobbies.com/store/DTXD32%211001/1%2F10+EVADER+EXT2+RTR]this[/link] would be a better choice simply because you can get parts from tower.

what exactly are you trying to build with the toy grade?

I am putting a gps in it and making it go to a gps posistion. It works but until I replaced the AA's with 2 9V batteries it could not even move in grass or go up a hill. Were are the parts on tower I can not find them.

I think I am going to keep The one I have. I "worked" with It alot today. I built my own esc and bec that works with my battery. The only problem is is on pavement the tires get no traction so when it turns sharply it spins out. I also added a servo for steering.
