27 MHZ receiver antenna wire
Hello all, just signed up to ask a question. This seems to be the place to ask questions about Toy Grade.
I have a Radioshack H2 Hummer that I am trying to get running again and I want to upgrade the receiver antenna.
How have you upgraded your antennas?
I am thinking about using a longer wire and coiling it up but I am not sure about the measurements.

There is no set rule for length measurement unless you know for sure how the circuit board in the truck is made. Some boards have components that allow the antenna to be shorter than required and still work well. That is why on hard ( spring) wire antenna you will see coils at the bottom. Set your truck out of radio range and add some wire to the antenna. Then see if you have increased the range if not cut some wire off (2-3 in) and check it again. Repeat until you are happy with the range.
