Let us know how that goes for you. If the order takes any more than 4 business days to get to you, the hobby shop screwed over your order. Keep on them like I had to do.
Did you take a look at the tamiya jump fest on the previous page?

Yeah... Nat found some good stuff for us. The one thing we did note though about the Mini and several other drivers going over those ramps was that they all let off the throttle while in the air. BAD MOVE!!! You always stay on the throttle in the air so when you land the truck goes into a natural wheel stand and then you let out of the throttle to plant the front end back onto the ground. In the Dukes of Hazard series and movie, they actually added bags of concrete to the trunk of the General Lee to keep it from nosing over on the landings.

Yep... it's all about weight transfer... just like a tractor pull:
It's almost 1:30am here... gotta wake up at 7am. I'm outie for now!

That's some funny stuff there, Nat. I had to return one of my shocks to the hobby shop today as it was leaking. The manager was cool and swapped it out for me. They think it's a defect from the factory because the oil was leaking from the seal around where the piston moves in and out. The other 3 seemed fine and had no issues. At least they're helping me out.
Can't wait to get my ramp! I want to see this thing take a jump! Now that the shock situation is squared away, here's what the truck can do now that it wasn't able to before all the mods I did...
1) Go through grass
2) Turn 360 degrees in a single car lane on the road
3) Light up with headlights, taillights, Blue Streak light, reverse lights
4) Travel at double to triple the stock speed
5) Charge batteries in 4 hours instead of 8 and nearly last for 6.
6) Pull body pins out with little effort
7) Not worry about breaking the antenna straw when rolling over
8) Keep a stock-looking appearence wile modding everything... most mods in this forum involve slicing and dicing the truck up
Issues yet to think about...
1) Larger motor... but right now the ESC is having a bit of trouble keeping up with the steering at the speed this thing is going
2) 50MHz Ham Radio receiver... I'm looking at the prices and they cost as much as the truck
3) Better body pin towers... have considered this before and passed on... might give it another thought
4) Roller bearings for the front tires (Nat, Red, either of you have a status report???)
5) Bigger tires, but Nat said it's a Royal P.I.T.A. to mod the stock ones, so I'm not sure if I should stay or play!?!?
6) If I can keep the thing off its roof, some wig-wag LEDs or a police blue light bar with animated patterns
7) Better cow catchers in the front and the back... the shocks now situate them so they're positioned with their fronts more toward the ground to prevent bounce ups from hitting the truck
8) Possibly some shock towers to run both A-frame shocks and angle shocks!?!? Not quite sure if this would make much of a difference!?!?
9) What I'm going to do with all of these spring shock parts I have collecting dust now???
10) Will I continue to mod the truck, or move on to something like a 1:6 Scale or Nitro!?!?
I think that's about it.

You weren't lying about the RPMs.
Wattage isn't too bad, but you'll need quite a bit of voltage to get there... not something to be put into a 6.0V to 7.2V rig... I'd only use it for 9.6V - 12.0V!!!
Torque kind of sucks over time, but I believe this thing was meant for speed more than torque... good for a dragster!!!
But here's the real proof in the pudding... it's super efficient with the power it consumes:

Before I put her in, I'm sure we'll have to discuss the steel roller bearing to replace the plastic bushings. That's probably going to be a real amount of fun! Not quite sure how to measure these up for you, but I'm sure I can find a metric ruler or tape measure around these United States somewhere.

People were wondering what kind of gears the rear end of the 1:10 Monster Truck has... here you go:
The motor is a custom built New Bright 280 Silver Can.

It's a locked diff. straight to the axle... no independence there... there's the pinion (not shown), and one extra gear that's located in the top piece that transfers the power from the pinion (not shown) to what you see pictured. It has acceptor teeth on one side for the pinion and is fused to another gear that goes down into the setup pictured. So, if counting, there are 4 gears (5 if you count the fused ones separately) and 1 pinion.

It has acceptor teeth on one side for the pinion and is fused to another gear that goes down into the setup pictured. So, if counting, there are 4 gears (5 if you count the fused ones separately) and 1 pinion.

Basically, here's the way they're stacked...
Pinion > Fused gear (teeth for pinion on one side fused to step up gear on other) > Fused gear #2 (teeth for the step up gear on one side fused to teeth for the axle gear on the other [pictured]) > Axle Gear (single gear transferring power directly to the axle [pictured])
This thing isn't in any fear of falling apart gear wise.
