thanks guys...i always love to take photos of it when in action.

re the tough guy, well some days ago i was thinking of fabricating a new set of seats again for this landy but then i thrashed the idea... its all extra weight which does not really help on performance then... since i removed lots of extra material, like the guy, the seats and bits and pieces from other areas i think its now a little bit lighter, even though i had added the roll cage but thats not too heavy.

Awesome Landy.

I found your videos on Youtube a few months back.

Thanks for the inpiration to make my own version.

I used the Tamiya CR-01 chassis for mine and made it from alloy.

Not finished yet but getting there.

Thanks neyou86 ...its a matter of taste really. I like all RCs but havent got the budget or knowledge to run a nitro or a fast rig so i'm happy going slow :-) ...plus my bodies would not last a minute on a fast rc LOL. ...going slow trying to get over an obstacle is still a nice challenge IMO

Hi guys... today i solved the issue of thetricky process to remove and install the stock LR3 body to chassis. Really hated trying to reach out for the small screws. Saw this idea on someone else's NB...i guess it was yakos and gave it a try. Nothing major and was ready in minutes... just four 2inch long bolts, bolted to chassis sides, which then go through body. Now body can be removed in seconds...just unscrew the 4 outer nuts. Probably i will cut off the extra length off. Body is even approx. 7mm lower than standard height...just enough to clear the battery.

here are some pics...

i guess you mean the axle links eh? ...with a little bit of trial and error LOL ...did various attempts, with different bends till i got it right....I used a threaded rod

Thing is i didnt want to fabricate new brackets, because otherwise they would have come better.
Still i cant complain...i've got full articulation as before with the axles now more stable in place.

These ((TRACK-BAR)) are very well installed .. They secure the axles ..

Your pine-doors, are a very good idea ..

PS .. I did not my second 2000 mAh battery, it should be on sale soon .

. For my future videos, I want my two battery packs are installed ..

had second thoughts and i will not cut extra length just in case i get another body, which might be wider than the LR3

The other way to do it is to manufacture body posts from Clevis pins...

yeah thanks mate those are definitely the way to go, especially the flexy plastic ones with i really like... but i just used first thing i could find at my local hardware store and from idea's birth to make themto final finished product there was barely an hour LOL

right now i'm into other plans... im thinking of getting a new toy... looking seriously at 1:18 mini losi crawlers and 1:10 axial ax10. Love them both and i'm just trying to see which one suits me and my budget best LOL. The losi comes complete with everything you need to crawl and the 1:18 size is sweet. I read that ratios are 86:1 with just one motor and locked diffs.

The bodies made from card board - Don't they come apart with the mud or water spashing on them?

well they did not so far ...did not deep wade in water but did occasionally go into mud. The one time i flipped the lightweight body over into watery mud i just left it to dry and it was all back to normal. These cant be compared to lexan bodies, but to someone who really wants a custom landy its an easy and cheap option. To say the truth i never bothered that i could break them... and when i did it was just a matter of gluing everything back on ...and i still prefer my bodies than the stock LR3 because they look more scale.

Hi again guys

this weekend i ordered one of these beauties... an SCX10

http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/scx10/

Obviously i will not be posting progress on this in this thread since this is not toy grade anymore. I have plans to turn it into something like this...using an HPI landrover body instead of the stock one.

I wont be leaving this thread though... my new bright landy stays

Adrian

thanks texx... i'm now very anxious for it to arrive so i can start working on it. I'm doing lots of reading on how to paint lexan bodies since i never did this before and still have to choose what landy body to buy... HPI or Kamtec... both are nice and should match the wheelbase perfectly. Wont be going for a crawler look but more on a scaler, similar to what i did with my nb landy.

Yes most probably i'll stay here at rc universe, but in the rock crawling section...i'm sure i'll have lots of questions to ask

Hopefully by friday it will be in my hands

I havent posted in here for ages now... as some of you already know i got myself the SCX10 and transformed it into a landy. Still got my new bright but havent driven it for ages now. Hopefully my kid will take over and start bashing it himself now while i bash my new axial LOL

If any one wants to see more here is the link to the RC Rock Crawler section where i've been posting lately...

[X(] .. WOW .. Very good work on the body ..

With this SCX10 you will surely have a lot of fun on the field ..[sm=thumbup.gif]
