Hi Adrian,I have used different size compound gears for the 4th gear mod with good results, the only thing that changes is your final drive ratio.
46x10 10t pinion=199 to 1
46x10 8t pinion=248to1
42x14 10t pinion=130 to1
42x14 8t pinion=162 to 1
56x10 10t pinion=242 to 1
56x10 8t pinion=302 to 1
Hope this helps a little

Has anyone found a web site/store where these gears that texx mentioned above are readily available. Also, any insight as to if the higher the final drive number is better or not would be greatly appreciated. I can't find a war tank anywhere and I just want to find 2 of these gears. Please help, I need more torque. Do these gears sound right or am I looking in the wrong place: http://servolink.com/prices.htm

Creepy Crawler..
My 2, gear 34x10, comes from the WAR-TANK ..
I know that this is an expensive price, but I can not tell what other place, where to find similar gears ..
Several other sizes of gear, can be installed ..
COBRA69 could help you ..
He installed some 4 th gear in its crawler .. He would answer your question ..
I find my WAR TANK, in a toy store used $ 5.00 .. I was lucky

With this war-tank, you will find inside ..
2 gear 34x10 ..
2 motor 280 ..
If I recall correctly, the 2 pinions have 8 tooth ..
