(( 4 TH GEAR ))
This war tank contains two gear 34x10 and two motor 280 ..
http://images.google.fr/imgres?imgur...BI3hlAeh-cn_BA
I do not remember if the pinions of the war tank has 8 tooth ..
################################################## #
All photos, assemble the 4 th gear, are on this forum ..
You put the 4th gear on a hanger with small plastic tube, near the gear and two more that goes down ..
I screwed them to the bottom of the differential, and I add the epoxy glue ..
((Do not forget to take the right steps))
then I install the motor on a plastic base (to the right height), then,
I should have adjusted the pinion of the motor on the 4 th gear, and then I glued the motor in place with epoxy ..
studying all the images in the thread ..

I have used different size compound gears for the 4th gear mod with good results, the only thing that changes is your final drive ratio.
46x10 10t pinion=199 to 1
46x10 8t pinion=248to1
42x14 10t pinion=130 to1
42x14 8t pinion=162 to 1
56x10 10t pinion=242 to 1
56x10 8t pinion=302 to 1
Hope this helps a little ...... [8D]
And 34x10 .. 8 tooth pinion = 184 to 1 = (( YELLOW-CRAWLER ))

RE: (( 4 TH GEAR ))
In stores hobby .. for gears and motor ...
Bringing in third gear hobby shop, and find a gear that will do the job ..
and do not forget the 8 tooth pinion and also make the motor.
or do a search on the internet ..[8D][8D]
PS ..
Destroy a toy for two 34x10 gears, and two motor 280 is not bad, especially if the price of this toy is not prohibitive ..
###########################################
The 4th gear is a Sugestion to make your crawler newbright more efficient ..
I made this installation without complication, and YELLOW-CRAWLER still works, since 2 years ..
As you choose your method ..
I would note that BIG-CRAWLER 1 / 6, has ((( 4 stock gear ..)))
So I think this is the best solution for these 1 / 10 newbright, for they are powerful .. [8D]
##############################################
To summarize, the addition of the 4th gear, seems to be the only way to get a crawler 1 / 10 rubicon, very powerful, on the rock ..
PS ..
This 4 th gear, installed only on the differential of rubicon 1 / 10 and toyota fj and land rover ....

RE: (( 4 TH GEAR ))
nbcrawler..
After all, find two small gear about 34 x 10, should not be too difficult ..
Two motor 280 is easily on ebay or at your local hobby shop ..
GOOD LUCK [8D]

RE: (( 4 TH GEAR ))
Open Differential, and exit the third gear ..........
Then, find a 4th gear, which adapts to the third gear, .........
and then find the pinion that will fit in the 4 th gear ........
and the shaft of your motor ..........
PS ..
To open differential, we must cut the small plastic extension on the end of each differential ..
Just below the attachment .. with an exacto ..

RE: (( 4 TH GEAR ))
The center of your pinion must be of good size, good to be on the shaft of the motor ..
So be sure that it goes well together, so it does not slip (the pinion) on the shaft of the motor ..[8D]

I have the same problem with what looks to be a 280 motor I got out of a NB corvette, the stock pinion will not come off of the motor shaft. Is their a way short of breaking it to get it off? NBcrawler, did you ever figure out how to get your stuck pinion off? Also, where did the motor come from?

RE: (( 4 TH GEAR ))
Plastic pinions.....You can use wire cutters to pry the pinions off the shaft.
just slide them between pinion gear & motor case & pry apart.
Brass pinions.....Use same method but heat pinion gear first.
