HELLO, friends of snowmobile ..

I buy at the flea market in my area, a ((POLARIS SNOWMOBILE) .. used ) the same model as neyou86 .. [8D]

The price was $ 35.00, but I talk with the seller, and after some pointers from me ..

( I told him that the battery was perhaps a bad way , and also that the pieces were very rare) I sold the $ 15.00 ..[X(][X(]

The seller operating the snowmobile, and everything works well .. The servo, belt, lights ..

I am satisfied .. [8D]

I placed the battery on the charger ... (I have several 9.6 volt battery with Tamiya connector)...

That was included in the sale, and the two ski for the interior ..

I opened this Polaris snowmobile, and I find a set of gear, which are in very good condition (The POLARIS, has hardly been used) .. [8D]

A small covered plactic must be installed above the gears to keep them firmly in place ..

I probably put grease on the gears, before closing it all ..

The design seems very good (Although, that space is very limited) .. [sm=thumbup.gif]

The motor seems big enough .. [sm=punching.gif]

There are two cooling plates .. This will perhaps say that this motor emerges from the intense heat ?

The electronics seems in good condition ..

The servo direction, it should also work ..

put some oil shocks on it. it will help alot.. soften the rear suspension. for electronics i using a traxxas xl5 esc, traxxas reciever in waterproof box and a traxxas transmitter. im using a stock titan 12t and a traxxas waterproof servo. the first mod you should do though is drill holes in the the drive gear for the belt and stick wires through the holes to help grip on the center guide. when the track stretches with age you will need to remove the rear wheels and move them farther back to tighten the track.

HELLO ..

Here are the best pictures ..

#################################################

This pic is from a member of UNIVERSE.COM ..

The system's power steering is very well built .. It works very well (for a stock servo)

I'll find a snowmobile brand NEWBRIGHT ( used ) they are really bigger and work better ..

After all, this, Polaris was a price, very affordable .. [sm=thumbup.gif]

It can be funny though.

my camera is not working right now but when it does ill post some on my thread. miller185 has some nice shocks on his. if i were to buy another motor i would get a co 27. it will have plenty of power. the gearing seems to be good. to put in a bigger motor it takes alot of work.

I just cut away at the plastic around the stock motor and cut everying thing out in a U shape so i could drop in a 540 size motor it basically just fits and all i did was clamp it down with an aluminum strip and it doesnt move at all. I am working on mounting it up higher though so i have more room for steering.

They will if the gears stay put, mine bunched up because the plastic cover didnt hold them down good enough and kind of stripped the one gear.

Hello ..

I install a larger motor in my POLARIS ..[X(]

This motor comes from one of my Jeep 1 / 6 NEWBRIGHT ..

I think it's a 351 ? ..

He is very strong, and its speed is slightly faster, but it will be much harder ..

The stock electrical panel, supports very well, this motor ..

I install a pinion 8 tooth ..I had several pinions (long)... in reserves ..

It will be stronger than the stock motor :-) ..

The stock gears are all stay in place ..

I removed the plastic, and made room for the new motor ..

I did a little test on the floor, nose to the wall, and easily turns its belt .. So it will be more efficient ..

I will also install a servo, which still comes from a JEEP 1 / 6 NEWBRIGHT ..

There will be no spring, so that it returns to center automatically .. I hope that it will work ..

Here are some pictures ..

THANK for your attention ..

THANK. Neyou86.

I think that his speed and power will be increased .. [8D]

But it is not proportional .. [] .. for now

I'll do some testing on the snow, there will be here in QC QUEBEC ..

To install the motor ..

I should have built a piece so that the motor can get stuck and it is held the stock covered with plastic and hot glue stick ..

It should hold up ..

Here the sound of this new motor ..[8D][][&o][:@][:'(][&:]

#############################################

The installation of the servo / toy is complete .. It works quite well ..

The stock servo was removed from my LAND ROVER .. Now it serves me for POLARIS.

I will change later ..[8D]...if a problem is looming on the horizon..

##################################################

PS ..

I'll probably do the mod NEYOU86 .. to stretch the belt ....

NEYOU86, give me the perfect way to do this mod ..

to tighten the belt you must remove the electronics board. then take the 4 screws that hold the cover down. ( the piece that the elctronics mount to. it holds down the axel on the track.) then take out the 2 screws on each side of the running boards (its what the guy stands on.) the suspension should now move freely. take out the drive axel (it should slide out)then pull the suspension through the hole. remove the track. cut the rear rod that holds the rear wheels on. remove the wheels. drill a hole farther back and remount the wheels with a long screw. let me know if you need help or pictures

PS ..

If your photos are ready, ok ..

Otherwise, I can make this mod even when ..[8D]

Today, I find the electronic card (stock) BIG-CRAWLER, before all his mods ..

It operates with 9.6 V battery ...

and a controller, newbright standard, (RUBICON). [8D]

And it is propotionnel speed ..

I'll do the test with this electronic card .. And if everything works well (especially the servo) I tried to install it in the POLARIS ..

The place is very limited .. []

HELLO ..

I install the new electronic card in my POLARIS ..

The place is small but I have been able to set the place.

I sealed the card, placing it in two bags Plactic .. and a little black ribbon Adesif.

My snowmobile, is now proportional speed.

I removed the servo that I had installed, and I replaced by a stock servo jeep 1 / 6, which became BIG-crawler.

Return to center automatically.

It works well.

I delete all the lights ..[]

A small opening for the switch ..

I see him in action in a few weeks, the snow is slow to fall.

HELLO ..

The first snow begins to fall. I may be able to do my first test in a few days ..

But I doubt the performance of Polaris in the snow. []

If Polaris is not capable of rolling in the snow, I will, tried other ways to make it better.

Bigger motor / best battery / l and so, money is still there, an ESC system ..[sm=thumbup.gif]
