RE: RUBICON 1/10 NEWBRIGHT .. 4TH GEAR ..
I wanted a crawler, which could climb the rocks without problems ..
With the addition of a 4 th gear,
The result was impressive .. [X(]

And since, YELLOW CRAWLER is performing on the rock (ratio of 184 to 1)
I buy a used war tank, ($8.00)and I keep 2 motors 280 and all the gears .. [8D]
Two of them would fit very well with the gear RUBICON .. [sm=thumbup.gif]
I've installed, and my surprise was great .. [X(]
I have strengthened the ties of other gears for added security .. It still works very well ..
################################################## #
When I opened the differential BIG-CRAWLER,( 1/6 JEEP NEWBRIGHT )
I saw that there were 4 gear by diff ..
I knew that this crawler is quite powerful ..
And it is efficient (for a rc / toy) .. Doing mods, the rc / toys is really happy ..

texx i have this newbright jeep, see my thread, however i have added a 4th gear, the 4th gear is from another axle, using the smaller gearset, same as the 3rd gear in the stock axle, what ratio would this give me? i can't find the thread with you explaining the new bright axle gear ratios

Hello.. Spiike
Here's what I found.
Maybe this will help you.
You do a good job.
Good luck.

I have used different size compound gears for the 4th gear mod with good results, the only thing that changes is your final drive ratio.
46x10 10t pinion=199 to 1
46x10 8t pinion=248to1
42x14 10t pinion=130 to1
42x14 8t pinion=162 to 1
56x10 10t pinion=242 to 1
56x10 8t pinion=302 to 1
Hope this helps a little ......
And TEXX-GEAR......
4th gear = 34x10 .. + 8 tooth pinion .
Ratio= 184 to 1 for YELLOW-CRAWLER .

RE: RUBICON 1/10 NEWBRIGHT .. 4TH GEAR ..
I counted my gears, all stock, stock pinion on motor, the only thing I added was a 46/12 tooth gear for the 4th gear, thats the only reason i asked, cause i don't know how to calculate the gear ratio

RE: RUBICON 1/10 NEWBRIGHT .. 4TH GEAR ..
Spiike ..
I can not give you this information ..
Another member had calculated my ratio ..
You must calculate the number of teeth on each of the 4 gear ( + CENTER TEETH of each gear), and pinion too. Giving information about this forum, and another member is sure to calculate your ratio.
Gear 1= ? OUT/IN ..Shaft gear..
Gear 2= ? OUT/IN
Gear 3= ? OUT/IN
Gear 4= ? OUT/IN
Motor Pinion = ?
Sorry for not being able to calculate your ratio.[]
