circuit board on motor

I've got.a maisto.coyote with what appears to be a 380 size motor which I'm looking to upgrade. Upon exposing rear of the motor i found a circuit board attached to it. The black and red wires are soldered to two terminals on the board marked F and B. Anyone know what purpose this serves and what would happen if I upgraded the motor or even just removed the board and connected the wires right to the motor terminals? I know its a toy but its fun and I'd like to give it a bit more speed. http://s1108.photobucket.com/albums/...ps81d09617.jpg

How many total wires go to the motor?
2? 5?

I think it is appropriate to look at this, sometimes it will destroy the upgrade.
