Hi Guys,

I picked up a second hand T-maxx for $50 and its working good. just cleaning it at the moment and I realised I dont know what version it is.
The box is for a 3.3 and so is the body, but I know it isnt as its got the old exhaust.

Can someone please tell me if its a 2.5 or 2.5r becasue i believe aftermarket parts are different.

2.5R or 3.3.(they are the 3.3 tyres)
I think the only difference between these two are only the different engines and tyres.(maybe the rim hex size but not sure)
the 2.5 has a silver cooling head.

I guess I do have the 3.3 then since its the box it came in and the body of the truck says 3.3
I was under the impression that the 3.3 had a different looking exhaust and air filter but maybe there is just a new version or something.

nitro isn't my thing, I won't know what is different between them. Maybe the oldest has the tq3 radio the newer two has 2.4. Maybe the older one of the 2.4 has doesn't have reverse and the newest has.

Its a model 4909.

The models 4908 and 4907 3.3 have the longer chassis, the model 4902 which is a very close match came with a 2.5R engine and different tires/wheels.

there is a difference in suspension parts as the new 3.3 has a wider stance and taller tires. im not sure if the shocks might be different or not. But with the higher power 3.3 version it has tougher drive shafts with blue rubber seals around the cv joints which I noticed in the picture yours has them. I have the 2.5r and the radio cover battery cover, and my transmission is black plastic. so Its safe to say you have the 3.3 version

oh and the only other diff is you probably have the 2.4 gig radio as I do not.

Black transmission, radio and rattery box indicates you have the 2.5 model 4910 that someone dropped a 2.5R engine into.
