Stampede gear Question?
Hello everyone! its been awhile since I have been on, I took a bit of a break away from it. I used to be into the nitro stuff now trying to learn the brushless. My son has a 2wd stampede that is practically like brand new so I decided to convert it over to brushless. I removed the stock esc, titan motor, and receiver, and replaced it with a dynamite tazer esc, tazer 3300kv motor and new spectrum transmitter and receiver. I took it for a run and it seems to be geared to low. I had a top speed of 27 mph and it was like a wild bull. The stock gearing is 19 pinion gear, 90 spur gear. Does anyone have any better suggestions for me to try? Again it was bone stock stampede with a xl5 esc and titan 12t 550 motor. would like to get it safely closer to 40+ mph if possible and still have good torque. Forgot to add I am running a 2s 5200 mah battery!

Just gonna through this out there, my first mods on my stampede(exact same one your talking about) was a reaktor 3500 brushless system with 2s, had the same issue, torque is great but just bogged on the top end. Soo I went to my local hobby shop and picked up a 31 tooth pinion gear, heat sink with cooling fan and mannn she woke the hell up! Lol didt get a top speed but she really did open up at the top, huge difference! Kept the stock spur gear as well. Thing is it gets hot as balls really fast so I really only used it for speed runs. I run a 21t pinion in her now daily and no problems on 2s
good luck
