Exclamation Tower Hobbies have a fallout with Traxxas?

I went to Tower Hobbies today to order stock parts for my EMaxx and my Slash 4x4.....Almost everything I looked at with the Traxxas name is discontinued, most without a "possible substitutions" list.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrott is going on?!?!?

Hobbico owns Arrma and they are getting sued by Traxxas because Arrma copied the Revo suspension on their (I think) Nero model. I'm trying to find the thread about it around here. I might have seen is on rcgroups.

Apparently not. I'm lucky enough to have 3 Hobby shops within 20 miles of my home that all stock Traxxas parts, so I am a bit spoiled in that regard. However, another viable option is going through a chop shop for parts. DollarHobbyz.com is basically a chop shop that parts out RTR rigs and sells the parts for a chunk less than retail. That site is actually local to me, but they do not sell retail through a storefront. They are strictly online.

I think this sues caused by copying Traxxas differentials, what is funny because Traxxas diff's not are even close best

I'm just looking to get back into the hobby and I noticed this as well. It seems this forum has died, but it looks like not all hope is lost haha. The more you know!

I always thought that copying was pretty much accepted, and the norm. I mean isn't the 2wd 3 gear traxxas transmission a copy of what associated called their stealth transmitransmission?

I have a 1/14 tacon valor(moster truck), and it's painfully obvious that it was designed directly from a 4x4 slash, or stampede

ebay and the online stores have wide selections for great prices. Its hard to beat buying from them. Mostly the reason why these LHS have gone out of business.
