Do the 2.5 and 2.5R have the same Carb?
I have a new 2.5 that is less the carb, and bought an OS carb that claims it fits the newer 2.5, and it just falls into the carb port on the case. They claim this carb is easier to tune than the stock one.
Are the 2.5 and 2.5R cases different?

Yes, the 2.5 and the 2.5r use the same carb.
From the photo it does not look like you have o-rings on the OS carb. That could be why it's loose. You don't want to use it if it's too loose. You want a snug, sealed fit or you will have air leak issues.

Well.. the funny part,
If I turn the carb upside down, it's a snug fit.. but ofcourse it won't work like that.
I've got some exploded veiws of the 2.5 carb, and it looks bigger on the bottom, but who can tell buy looking at the picture.
The O ring that is missing, if i were to put that on there, it seems like it would still be to small.
I almost need a whole other header gasket type ring. It's fits like the header fits the engine if that rubber ring for exhaust port is missing.

that o ring would have to be every bit of an 1/8" thick, if not more.
I didn't know that they made them that big.

Well,
I think I figured out what is wrong here!
Take a look. Does this look like a fix to anyone else?
Thanks
