Default 2 choices which is better for revo?

I decided on these tires for my Revo

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=PROC1134&P=K

Wondering which of these 2 wheels will be a better choice?

1/2 offset
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXKSA9&P=K

or

standard offset
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXLCC1&P=K

Are there benefits to one or the other? Disadvantages?

The off set wheeles will make the truck alot more stable. IF i were you i would get RPM clawys, they look great, are super strong, and are claimed to be the lightest rims on the market.

Ohh and i for got ot tell you, the standard bowties are better for every day drivers, ie, peaple who drive on the street, take it down into the back yard to some bashing, and then take it to the track later that day. The MTR is for a flat out sticky track, the reason they are like for racing is because they are lighter, wich will increase acceleration but is doutibly noticable. I would get the standard bow-ties if i were you, more traction, and a wider stance will probly benifit you better.

But the MTR's have specially made ribs inside to prevent ballooning of the tire. I thought they would be better?

Sc doesn't know what he's talking about.

If he did, he would realize exactly how big of a difference the size in tire can make, even if it is only a tiny bit smaller.

Ohh the MTR is a great tire, i just think for you a normal bowtie would be better.

And Mayham, i was expressing my opinionion. I explained why i beleave the standard bow-ties are better, and why they work for me better then the mtrs did, if you want to be so crude in your ansers, the least you could do is explain why you think what you do?

I like the crime fighter tires and the velocity wheels.

Okay, since SCracing requested it, I'll give you my opinion.

I have to agree that if you are going to screw around in the yard, and drive on pavement, the standard Bowties are the better choice, although something like big Joes or Dirt Hawgs would be better, but if you are going to go to the track, and the bowties are the hot setup, the ones you selected are better.

Even though they have ribbing, they won't prevent all ballooning, and tape will do a better job either way, so the ribbing isn't something that should make you choose this over the standard for messing around. Second, these are much softer, and they will be slicks in no time if you drive on pavement. Not so with the standards. Beware of that.

Also, if you know what you're doing, the tires shouldn't be ballooning anyways.

And finally, just pick the tires, not the wheels, based on the application. If you are racing, the MTR are way better, because of less rotating mass, as well as being thinner, giving you more steering, less work on the servo, and more speed and acceleration. Sure this sounds great to a basher to, at least the speed and acceleration, but cut standard bowties will work just as well, but last years if you stay away from the street, and a year at least if you do hit the pavement.

Ok, i do mostly bashing, but I did get the revo to try out racing. If anything I drive on the grass not the street. The only time my trucks see the street is if I am working on something at home and need to test it out real quick, a couple of passes nothing more. I find the 3 different kinds of bowties confusing, standard, m2, and now the mtr. I assumed the latest is the greatest? Pro-line says the ribbing in the mtr will help reduce ballooning and had better traction. Based on say 70% grass or dirt bashing, and 30% on track which one do I need? Also is the crimefighter any better? I know it is similar.

Standard maxx MT2 Bowtie
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMGJ0&P=7

Maxx bowtie
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXABV5&P=7

MTR
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPCG8&P=7

These all just seem so similar to me, but they all are different with different part numbers.

Just get the standard maxx bow-tie, it will last for ever and have great traction, you'll want somethign new befor you need to, they will literally last years like mayham said, btw, mayhams post said it exactly, and by the engines you are looking at you aren't a sirios racer, so thease tires are going ot be a better choice in the end.

SC you are completly wrong, bowties will NOT last a long time.....Bowties are some of the fastest wearing tires on the market. If you use bowties on the street they wont last more than a tank or 2.
Dont post unless you have the product, or know the answer firsthand.

For day in, day out bashing, and some racing, I like these Harvick...
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXABV5&P=ML
I'm still running one set with 80% tread left after 8 months( n0 pavement usage).

As for wheels, 1/2" offset works well with the 23mm hubs, and the above tires.

Since I got the 23mm hex conv. and some beadlocs, I run the 40 series bow-ties with a band of tape on the inside to act as a radial belt I guess. My tires never balloon and the tread seems to last me forever in gravel, grass, and some pavement. Im no tire genius but Bow-ties, at least the 40 series, seem to work great for me.

Ok, found out the MTR is for 1/8 scale truggies requiring a different wheel than a max. I am going with the MT Bowtie http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMGJ0&P=7, this recommended per Pro-line. Also because I am currently running the extended control arms they recommend I run the velocity rims with the standard offset. Sooooo Guess that is what I will order.
