I use pullstart.

BTW, you have both bump start and starter box on you're poll, FYI, they are the same thing.

Currently pullstart on my TMaxx, and EZStart on my Revo. EZ Start's coming off as soon as I get a new pullstart. Found recently how much easier it is to start a pullstart engine after using a hair drier to warm the engine up. Excellent tool in 30 degree weather!

That should be fun. The only thing I've seen that will bump start a savage is some can opener looking thing that costs over $100 and still has to have a hand held electric starter. Or maybe that thing was for a T-Maxx. Either way, it's going to be a real pita to try to bump start a Savage.

Airplanes use a cone starter or some use a shaft start system. I've never seen a plane use a bump start.
Of course you can get a big rubber wheel for that kind of starter but they're a real pain to use for several reasons. You'ld be far better off to get a starter box if you're set on bump starting.

Oh, and please turn your caps lock off.

Right now I have the e-z-start.
I want to go to bump start on my revo.
Is RD Racing the only company that makes a revo starter box?
Also how much is the 12v gel battery you need for the RD box?

rd racing is the only bump box worth using on the revo. The RD Logics one sucks worse than a bucket full of ticks

I use a RD racing bump box on 2 of my revos and a roto start on one of them and the ole traxxas ez start on the one I'm building for my daughter. I prefer the bump box over all of the above though.

FIRST OF ALL, WHY DO YOU YELL? Second, an airplane starter and starter box are still the same thing. They both rotate the flywheel to start the engine. They both use rubber wheels too. One is just "hand held."

How can you use a starter box, aka "airplane starter", on a Savage? From pictures that I've seen, it seems as there is no access to the flywheel.

Soooooo what's that got to do with a bump start? With good tuning any nitro engine should pretty much fire right up regardless of the system used to turn the engine. All my pullstart engines start on two to three pulls when cold and 1 pull when warm. Roto, spin and ez starts are pretty much instantanious once primed. But that's a subject for a whole different thread.

I use the duratrax kwik pit super start on my raze, warhead, and nitro evader. I just use a drill with the losi starter shaft on my aftershock. (soon to get spin start)
