electric fuel pump?
has anybody heard of or seen an electric fuel pump on a t-maxx, or any rc car or truck at that? if so do you know how well it worked. im assuming one would work on a 4stroke much better than a 2stroke. i just saw a perry fuel pump while browsing around the net today and thought about the idea of one on my t-maxx.

RE: electric fuel pump?
what will likely happen
is that the engine
will tend to flood at low rpm's
the fuel system is designed
to have varying fuel pressure
at varying engine rpm's
if rpm's rise
fuel pressure rises
people have used check valves in the pressure line
and it has produced similar results
by trapping the high pressure generated
by high rpm runs in the fuel tank
it has also made tuning more difficult
i have not done this
so i cannot say for sure
that is what will happen
but it is what i would expect
so if you do give one a try
let us know how it works
from first hand experience

RE: electric fuel pump?
that would make sense seein where it is same pressure all the time. but i wonder if you could put some sort of variable resistor with the throttle servo to change the voltage feed going to it. just a thought, when ever i get around to getting one ill play around with it.

RE: electric fuel pump?
I've seen the perry pumps (more on air planes) but they way they work is the pump runs off the crank case pressure. So I'm 99% sure the more RRM's the more fuel it pumps.

why do you think you need one? do you run upside down a lot?

Even if you run a pump it will not help with being able to run upside down, because the fuel pick-up is still in the bottom of the tank.
