Default How can I stop revo wheelies

Ok guys i bought a wing for my revo 3.3 5308 model the main reason i got it is to protect the engine. since i installed the wing my revo is a wheelie machine!!!!! i can barely keep the front wheels on the ground. How can i fix this? will stiffer springs in the rear help or should i put some weight up front?

Tie up a brick onto the front.

Try playing with your rear springs, softening them up should kill the wheelies a bit. The extra weight from the wing on the rear changed your weight distribution, see if you can move something up to the front. Or maybe just back off the slipper a tiny bit just so it will have trouble wheelying.

adjust the wing angle. maybe its adding too much downforce to the rear....

I adjusted it as flat as it will go. It does high and low speed wheelies mostly low speed tho. I think I'll loosen the slipper a little cuz I had to tighten it because it worked itself loose maybe I over tightend it just a little

Would a center diff be good? I have been thinking about trying one but I think I will try the slipper clutch first

You could try mounting your RX pack up front as well, the wing angle is not the case, it's the wing itself.

Stiffer springs will make it worse.

I'd lower the front a little and keep the back jacked up just like a drag car. Also you can buy a hump pack that will mount up front for some ballast.

Otherwise a cd is a good option.

If you get the center diff you need the rear brake. Or else when you brake the fronts will lock up and your rears will keep spinning. You also need 500k in the center diff or else you lose ALOT of power in the front tires because of spinning.

You want the rear as soft as you can stand. Instead of transfering the weight into a wheely it should sh1t and get.

It's not about half or less throttle... it's about knowing when to give it less when it's about to flip on it's back. Full throttle just comes a little later in the acceleration. If you do it right you'll find that you accelerate alot quicker when you know how much throttle to give it.

Whats the fun in treating your truck like an ON/OFF switch? They gave is digital proportional control, use it! I'd understand if it was wheelying under almost every throttle imput but cmon, its a 3.3.... Stick a good big block in there and you'll learn a thing or two about throttle control..

Well said but doing what you can to keep the front down ultimately means a faster truck. In which case lowering the front (with the back jacked up) and a hump pack as far forward as you can put it is a good idea. Maybe even a monoblock if your a big blocker. Softer rear springs will help also.

Flip your clutch over, opposite of traxxas install.
That will give you a smoother take off.

20 replys not one guys tells you to get a bigger clutch bell or smaller spur to cut down on the low end no matter how much you tweak the shocks and seup the problem is to much power and that is not a bad problem adjust the gear ratio and now you will have a bit more top end with a bit less low end .

Same thing as throttle control, except then you don't have the option to pull an awesome wheely when you feel like it

The 3.3 is by no means an overly powerful motor. Shouldn't be hard to make that thing keep the front down without touching the gear ratio.
Makes more sense to transfer any available weight to the front instead of killing acceleration.

Put heavier tires on the front. This set should be equal in weight to the old tires plus the wing and hardware you added. Your truck will act like it did before. Keep the old tires handy just for pulling wheelies.
