Picoo .26 red dot problems again
Ok i did everything you all said about sealing the motor.....its still leaking fuel somewhere in the front im guessing around the carb......and also should the .26 red dot on a extended 3.3 tmaxx do a wheelie on demand? i was under the impression when i bought the engine that it was crazy power....but im not seeing it....can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

if you sealed the motor properly you should have no leak's unless something is faulty.
you could also have this problem because it is set too rich, this happened to me when i first ran my red dot and 3.3.
this may help you http://www.*********.org/engine-tuning.htm

If your engine sounds strong like it should pop wheelies then id look at new clutch shoes.
Transformed my savage and revo. I too was thinkin whats all this fuss bout the picco's but new Ali clutch shoes and its hard to take off now without wheelie'n
Tim.

Your most likely too rich and are leaking fuel out of the front bearing.
Yes it should wheely on demand but they take a while to loosen up. How much fuel have you run through it?

i'm tellin' you your lack of patience is what is making this worse for you
these motor's need roughly 1 gallon of fuel to be broken in
i don't know i run an MIP replacement clutch on mine with a traxxas high stall spring and it work's fine for me.

RE: Picoo .26 red dot problems again
Ok i just did an air check and it seems to be coming out around the high speed needle housing...so im gonna seal that up again and see how it does......and there are some like grey gritty shavings mixed in with all the fuel on the car....i think thats the clutch housing maybe its not getting enough grip....i might need to just get a better clutch setup....idk

RE: Picoo .26 red dot problems again
I'm not a big believer in the whole soapy water test. Soap has a tendency to strip away oil which is no bueno for bearings. I like to use old nitro and submerge the motor, then blow in the fuel line and look for bubbles.
Clutch could be the issue but my guess is its not loosened up yet. Like said above 1 gallon is when they wake up.
Seal up that leak and let us know. Also check your carb boot. Mine had a slit in it from the throttle linkage and it wouldn't leak unless the throttle was open. I sealed the boot on both ends for a little extra insurance.

my red dot is insane in my revo, wheelies on command with only part throttle, top speed is easily ove 50 mph. i love that engine, but it does take some time to break in. good luck.

RE: Picoo .26 red dot problems again
ok it took me a while to actually find time to submerg the picco into denaturalized alcohol to test for leaks but i just did it......it leaking a little out around the needle housing but its leaking really bad around where the crankshaft goes into the front bearing.....how do i seal this or is it normal?

Use this for around the needles. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXSF70&P=ML
Also, The front bearing will always leak a little as it is impossible for it to seal completly. However alot of leakage is not normal. As far as I know here are your options if this is the case. New bearing, unless crank is warped causing it to leak then you would want both.

these engines have only 3 moving parts, there is no such thing as a lemon........... your tuning or setup is to blame without question.....

RE: Picoo .26 red dot problems again
Well i can tune it and it will run ok but then the next tank it will be completly out of tune. And it has never ran its full potential..... I have 1 gallon through it now...but a lot of it has leaked out of the motor...even after sealing it.......and why is it that the 3.3 doesnt need to be sealed once you get it? i have a 4tec and it didnt need to be sealed and it runs perfect all the time....i never have to tune it.
