Revo 5309 Upgrades
Hi i have a Revo 5309 completely stock with a half gallon on it. I was wondering what upgrades are the best bang for your buck. I am a basher not a racer. I do not want a diifferent engine or a raidio/servo ect.

RE: Revo 5309 Upgrades
I wouldn't do the spacers...tough on your uprights and bearings.
I'd do the wing mount NOT for the wing, but for the sway bars (you must get one to get the other). I'm rebuilding my truck now and intend to cut off all that wing mount stuff. I crashed heavy on the rear end and the extra lever arm bent everything all to heck.
I'm a fan of RPM...as much as you can buy. Bulletproof stuff.
I also like Robinson Racing pinion/spur combos. Got tired of pulling the tranny to replace the spur. But I'm running a lot more engine...Red Dot.
For bashing I REALLY like having a roll cage. It saves all your guts from major abuse and tightens up the whole structure. I'm running a HardBodyz unit and have been pleased.

I wasnt referring to spacers. Sorry for the confusion. I meant 1/2 offset wheels as in Phatline or half up Rulux. Check my Avatar. A wider stance give the Revo better handling. I woundnt do spacers either. My Revo is a 5309.

I have a wing and really like it. It also protects the engine from damage in rollovers. I just installed the sway bar kit and it makes the truck more stable so I like it so far. What air filter does the 5309 come with if its the black one with the opening just on the end then get the 5308 air filter or the motor saver filter.

RE: Revo 5309 Upgrades
The Traxxas wing mount is great and then just pick a wing that you like. I have a JConcepts wing that has worked great. To clarify one thing, you don't have to get the wing mount to run the Traxxas sway bars...you need the wing mount only if you want to run a rear bumper. I would still get the mount and wing, either way, since it will protect your motor, act as a wheelie bar and is a great grab handle. If you haven't bought one already, the new 5308 airfilter is a great upgrade, too, as someone already mentioned.
