Default Servo wants to explode

My several year old SportMaxx has recently started having steering issues, the servo seems its going to have its servo saver explode when it turns to the steering to the left, to the right is fine. I've handled the steering assembly by hand and theres no feel of binding in it, yet the servo saver seems to torque, not even extending the full range of the turn. This also means turning to one way takes under 1 second, to turn to the left though can take 2 seconds or even 3. Also, what other radio manufacturers are directly compatible with traxxas' radio systems.

Have you tried replacing the servo with a new one? May be worn out.

Sounds like either the servo is bad, something is binding or you have some worn out steering linkage parts.  Take that bad boy apart and see what's going on with it.

If you are using pivot ball suspension make sure that the pivot cups are not to tight.
