Default gen. 1 Tmaxx clean up

Hi guys, I'm in the middle of a complete tear down and clean up on this pro15 tmaxx I just picked up. (40 bucks) I post picks a few weeks ago. It is amazing.
This truck should b totaly worn out. But it's like new under all this gunk. the hole drive line shows no signs of wear. It's nice and tight. I was thinking of just
selling it after a quick clean up. but I'm having 2nd thoughts. the truck has been sitting for a long time. But I tore down the motor and DAMN it's got
great compresstion and fired right up. no leaks. I've been taking pics. from the beginning. i'll post some more soon.
Should I keep it? as a collector. Traxxas's first tmaxx. (vintage).. or sell it? It's like a bit of history........lol

thats totally up to you!!!!
do you already have one?
the pro.15 is notorious for a problematic powerplant.
i decided to keep my gen 1 maxx. i put an os 18 tz in it (wow)
that woke it up!! the pro.15 would run had compression but always gave me fits!!
one day it would run ok one day it wouldn't even run at all!!!
i put in a reciever pack, fail safe, and a throttle return spring .
the thing should be good to go for quite a while now!!(provided the new powerplant doesnt shred the drive train!)

I have plenty of nitro trucks.... I was getting 2 or 3 trucks ready to sell on Ebay. I could subsituite the Tmaxx for another truck to sell, If u guys think it's worth hanging onto.
I'm a big basher and race my revo every season. but I'd prbly just make this my only shelf queen I have. I love the nitro monster trucks. I'm wondering what this truck
is worth. what would be a good asking price. if I sell it. Any thoughts??? Thanks

i parted out my maxx on ebay to buy my revo. If your are gonna sell the maxx part it out and you will most likely get more money out of it.

If you only paid $40 for it keep it...There are not too many all original 1st gen Maxx's left that have not been upgraded..

I have 1 that I run on occasion and another thats oiled up and put away in it's original box.
A couple of months ago I had the runner out and managed to break a rear shock tower. Some of the original 1st gen parts are getting hard to find and it took me a few days to locate an original tower.

I would definately keep that one original, The original T-MAXX is a history making R/C.
It ranks with the Tamiya Bruiser, gold-tub RC10, and HPI RS4.

I have the original Pro.15 narrow track Maxx as well as a few others. I am glad I have the oldie. Not as quick as the newer ones, but still runs like a champ and is just as much fun to drive. I think you will be happy with keeping it as well.

I still have my pro 15 t maxx, just converted her into an emaxx a few days ago. still have all the original parts too, minus the rims and tires. This truck has seen many changes, pro 15 pro 15 with the 2.5 motor, next was the os 18 cvr with the widemaxx and now an emaxx. as you can see from the pic, the old engine mount and hole in the chassis for the exhuast lol
