Be sure to prime the engine properly first, there should in the lines right up to the carb before you try to start the engine. Start with the needles at stock settings. Make sure there are no air leaks in the system. Including leaks at the exhaust header, pipe coupler, the silicone hoses and the fuel tank lid seal. Make sure the carb is tight too. Check the glow plug too, it may be loose.

You really need to wait till the engine is up to temp before making needle changes. If it's overheating, it's likely got a leak somewhere or is just set way too lean.

wow! Poof... If that was a new engine, Traxxas will replace it for free. They replaced one of mine for free when the rod snapped.

And if it is not a new engine, you can send it in via their engine replacement plan. Or upgrade. Whatever floats your boat. When you were starting it, did you give it a little bit of gas? Hitting the throttle a few times works pretty good.

About a good gallon, to a gallon and a quarter......what's good gas to use? I used to run trinity. Monster 25% then I ran out and the hobbyship didn't stock it there for I had to get top fuel 20%.

That shouldn't be a problem then. All I can think of is you leaned it too much and it overheated. Either that or it was defective.

Well I just called them and they told me they don't carry warrenties. But they will exchange it for the motor I have now for a brand new one for $115. Worth it?

It'd save you $15. A new one from [link=http://www.towerhobbies.com]www.towerhobbies.com[/link] is $130. Personally though, I would just buy a new one off of eBay and save the old one for parts. Here's one for about the same price as Traxxas gave you: [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Traxxas-TRX-3-3-Racing-Engine-Revo-Jato-/350369256692?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5193a294f4]link[/link]

The linked engine has no air filter/OWB or pull start.
Add in the shipping and missing items and its more than the ERP.

ORIGINAL: Snook Man

The linked engine has no air filter/OWB or pull start.
Add in the shipping and missing items and its more than the ERP.
Take those off the old one. And plus shipping its like $2.50 more That will leave you with an extra cooling head, crankcase, carb, and a few smaller things.
