Revo 3.3 Brushless Conversion
4 Attachment(s)
So about a week ago I was asking for [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10861927/tm.htm]recommendations on a brushless system[/link] to get my poor revo out of garage-shelf hell. Since then this is what I've done.
RC-Monster motor mount Tekno Revo specific battery tray Tekno RX Box RX8 & T8 2000kv truggy motor GENS ACE 5300mah 4S 30C Lipo battery Single servo mod(makes a perfect spot for the rx box) 17/40 gearing Rebuild the trans with the foward-only, wide-gearing kit, and locked 2nd gear. Attachment 2236732 Its not done but very close. I still have to solder the motor and the esc battery cables. The battery straps haven't shown up yet and the esc need a real mount. A closer look of the esc and cable runs.. Attachment 2236733 Attachment 2236734 I cut the old 3.3 mount in order to keep the half that help supports the bulkhead. Only one of the pieces screws in but i figured it could help with frame rigidity anyway. Attachment 2236735 So far I'm very happy with how the conversion has gone and I think it looks nice and clean. Any input or suggestions are welcome. |
RE: Revo 3.3 Brushless Conversion
your gonna want to mount the ESC on top the rear shocks with a pice of lexon, while your at that make a rear shock tower brace too you'll see most E-REVO guy have done this brace .I did and it really helps for rigidity.

I was originally thinking of mounting the esc in the same orientation as the picture below but at ~30 degree angle, raised towards the tranny, on a rigid mount bolted to the two points in the frame. My goal really would be to have the mounts outer edge go no farther then the line from bolt to bolt. That way theres a smooth transition along the frame line-nothing to stick out and catch anything. Ill mock up mounts in both locations and see how they look. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...334a3b07-1.jpg ORIGINAL: pyromatic177 Thats awesome dude. im building an E-revo |
RE: Revo 3.3 Brushless Conversion
First off im new to this rc stuff but had a few ?? so you have no reverse right how about brakes </p> |
RE: Revo 3.3 Brushless Conversion
I think you have to lock the trans into 2nd gear so its pretty much direct drive,so in turn the electric motor is the brakes .

RE: Revo 3.3 Brushless Conversion
hey whats better revo platnium twin adjustable brake disc's with centre diff
or just lock the gearbox & use a electronic motor brake? |
RE: Revo 3.3 Brushless Conversion
the motor brakes are normally wicked good
|
RE: Revo 3.3 Brushless Conversion
Yeah but I heard that mechanical brakes are more consistent and u can adjust the front and rear bias with the platinum gearbox
Has any one tried both? |
