engine causing glitching
1 Attachment(s)
ok i posted this in the engine forum but i am getting nothing so i will post it here.
how do you issolate the engine interference comming from the engine. all i get is constant glitching with the motor running. i have another set of elctronics that i am going to try, but if that dosen't solve the problem i need to figure this out. do i possible need to groung the electronics to the frame???? anyways my head hurts so i will let some else think of something to do.. PS it is coming together nicely THNX ETRNL |
RE: engine causing glitching
Well that's a big engine with a lot of noisy moving parts. Trying to isolate the noise that's causing the interferance may be almost impossible.
You'll probably need to upgrade to at least an FM radio, if not a 2.4 Ghz DSS radio. |
RE: engine causing glitching
Hi,
3 words…. CHANGE YOUR SPARKPLUG!! First of all… when a sparkplug gets old… it takes more power to fire it. A larger field is produced in the magneto, and more EM noise is made. Also… you want to use a resistor plug. A low value resistor will control current, and in turn… lowers the EM noise. The stock Traxxas electronics will run fine in close proximity to a gas engine. I’m still drinking my coffee… so give me a couple hours and I’ll look up the correct spark plug # for you. Oh… BTW… NGK plugs seem to be the best in RC applications. |
RE: engine causing glitching
sweet thnx i will go find a engine shop... if i have one..
the one in there now is.... NGK BPM8Y |
RE: engine causing glitching
OK... easy... just put an "R" on the end of that #... and it's the resitor plug. (for NGK)
