T-maxx differential

Can anyone tell me why one case has 4 screws in it and the other only 2? New design maybe? Will they interchange? My ring gear is bad so I thought I would replace it all.

The 4 screw is the 3.3/2.5R diff and the 2 screw are the 2.5 diffs

ok i thought that the revo came with the 2.5r and 3.3 so is the 2.5 diff from the t maxx if so i thought the t maxx and revo diffs were not the same
